All users of Kontagent's Facebook SDK that want to make use of the authenticated referrals feature, a Facebook feature which revamps how users authorize and install your application, must update to the newest version of the SDK, available here.  All applications that have enabled Authenticated Referrals must also update their kontagent_config.php files as well as their ad and partner tracking links - see here for more details.

As of February 15th, Facebook will turn on Autheticated Referrals for all new applications. Authenticated Referrals is a new Facebook feature which, when activated, will allow users who have not installed your application to be given an inline authentication dialog rather than first being redirected to your application. With authenticated referrals turned on, you as a developer will no longer have ownership over authorization process for your app, meaning that any new user will already be installed when they arrive at your application's landing page.

This change affects all customers instrumented with Kontagent because it completely changes how users enter your application either through ad clicks, stream posts, invites, etc.

Currently, Kontagent's Facebook SDK does not support Authenticated Referrals. However we are working on a solution to this issue and will update everyone when a fix is available. Authenticated referrals are an opt-in feature. If you are using our Facebook SDK, please ensure that you keep this feature disabled via Facebook's application settings in all of your current and new applications.

In addition, if you are using our REST API or API Wrappers and plan on activating authenticated referrals, please ensure that your instrumentation is prepared to handle the new authorization process.
